Neuropathic Pain Clinical Research Studies

For Post Herpetic Neuralgia and Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy Pain


Do you have Diabetic Neuropathy or Post Shingles Pain

We are currently seeking volunteers with pain for the following clinical studies:

  • Post-herpetic Neuralgia
  • Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathic Pain

Neuropathic Pain

Neuropathic pain is a complex, chronic condition in which damage or dysfunction of the nervous system causes chronic pain. As a result, the injured nerves or nerve fibers send improper signals to the body's pain centers.

Symptoms may include:

  • Shooting and burning pain
  • Tingling, burning, or prickling sensation
  • Numbness or insensitivity to pain or temperature
  • Extreme sensitivity to touch, even light touch

Eligibility

Certain requirements must be met to be eligible to participate in a clinical research study. Study participants may receive, at no cost, study related medical care, investigational drugs, and laboratory services.

Post Herpetic Neuralgia (PHN) Study

You may be eligible to participate if you:

  • Are between 18-85 years of age
  • Have persistent PHN lasting more than 6 months
  • Are able to complete regular diary entries

Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy Pain (DPNP) Study

You may be eligible to participate if you:

  • Are between 18-85 years of age
  • Have moderate or severe DPNP caused by type 1 or type 2 diabetes for at least 6 months
  • Are able to complete regular diary entries
